Introduction
"Su Yin Zhou was born in Shanghai, China in 1986. In 1989, she moved to Canada where her family eventually settled in Edmonton, Alberta. At the young age of five, Su Yin began studying the traditional brushwork techniques of Chinese watercolor painting and Chinese calligraphy with Professor Mozhi Chen. Su Yin's acceptance into Columbia University gave her the opportunity to study numerous art mediums such as photography and printmaking techniques under some of the best professors. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts and her work has since been displayed at several solo and group exhibitions, including various publications in Canada, China and the United States.  Su Yin's August 2009 exhibition "Sound of Ink" at the United Nations in New York City was among one of the most successful art exhibitions held there, and she, the youngest artist to ever exhibit.  Though her work stems from traditional Chinese brushwork techniques, Su Yin’s work continues to evolve into a style that is distinctively hers.
